Up until Logan had point blank told her that Xander would not be a candidate for a third in their relationship, Sam was anticipating the possibility of another threesome. And then that man came in last night, his mere presence heightening Sam’s pleasure tenfold. The way he watched her and the way Logan watched her… The presence of that man hadn’t just affected her, it had affected Logan too.

That’s when it all came back full circle for her. Back to the day she met Logan and the subsequent days that followed.

There were so many things that Logan did to her that made her crave him, both then and now, but truthfully, the look in his beautiful eyes had always been what made Sam burn hotter. She could get lost in Logan’s penetrating gaze for hours. It was a heady feeling when he turned his full attention on her, all but consuming her with a heated look.

“It just seems like we’re trying too hard.” God, she was doing a horrible job of explaining this. “Last night was mind-blowing. Better than anything we’ve done in a long time. But it didn’t have anything to do with being tied up.”

Sam allowed a small amount of disappointment to show when Logan wrapped his towel around his waist. He laughed at her, just as she hoped he would.

“What did it have to do with then?”

They stared at one another for a long moment before Sam finally said, “That man. It had to do with that man.”

Logan nodded, his eyes still fixed on her as he added, “You’re still interested in a threesome.”

It wasn’t a question, just a simple statement and to her surprise, Logan didn’t sound disappointed. Not that she really expected him to. They could create a spark between them alone just as well as when they were around others. That had never been an issue. But they both knew that what had transpired between them back when Luke and then Tag had been in their lives had been volatile.

“Yes,” she told him just to assure him that they were thinking the same thing. “I’m still interested in a threesome.”

Logan’s head tilted slightly, his eyes locked with hers. “Finish getting ready and we’ll talk some more.”

Sam wondered if he had something specific that he wanted to talk about or if he were just interested in digging deeper into her psyche. He did that. Logan liked to know everything she was thinking. If he had a concern, he confronted her about it.

Logan didn’t like her hiding from him and he made a point to remind her that she couldn’t keep herself from him. So, for the last couple of years, she’d grown accustomed to opening up to him. Especially when he questioned her openly.

Sam watched him disappear from the bathroom. She did need to finish getting ready or there wouldn’t be anyone left at the club for them to go see anyway.

Heading to her closet to get dressed, she thought back to the last part of their conversation last week.

“I need you to do something for me, Sam,” Logan said. “You need to think long and hard about what you want. If you want to pursue this BDSM stuff, I’m game. If you’d prefer to find a third for the future, I’m open to that too. I just need to know which you want more.

“Unfortunately, I think you’re going to have to make a choice here. I don’t see you getting both. And definitely not with Xander.”

Sam had agreed with him wholeheartedly. It was part of the reason she hadn’t pushed further at the time. She did need to give their situation some thought. And she’d done that. She’d actually done little else besides think about it.

Thoughts about what she’d seen that first night, thoughts about what she wanted, what she didn’t want, what she might want. It was all very confusing.

Rather than worry about Xander, or whether there might be a possibility for a threesome with him in her future – because she knew without a doubt that the man was in love with Mercedes – she had turned her focus to Logan. Her husband.

It all boiled down to the fact that whatever they decided to do would need to make them both happy.

If BDSM were something they could give a trial run, then maybe they should. But if Logan was doing this to placate her, or because someone else believed it might be what she wanted, they would need to sort that out ahead of time.

Sam wanted what Logan wanted. Pure and simple.

That was when the most important questions had come to her: Was she putting her desires before Logan’s? Was Logan doing the same with her? Had they somehow lost sight of what would make them both happy?

Since the very first time when Logan had introduced her to a threesome, she’d found out things about herself that she didn’t even know existed. And she craved those interactions as much as Logan did. Only they’d both shut down somewhere along the way because things hadn’t worked out the way she had expected.

That didn’t mean Sam wasn’t happy. She was. More so than she ever had been in her life. And with each passing day, Logan continued to teach her more and more about herself. Like just how much love she could have for one single human being.

There was no denying the fact that she enjoyed the exhilarating feeling of two men focused on her, the way Logan controlled her pleasure, even if he were just directing her.

She knew Logan enjoyed those times, as well.

But she also knew Logan didn’t develop emotional ties the way that she did. At least not with the two men who had previously participated in their sexual exploits. For him, it was about pleasure and she respected that. Just as he respected the fact that the casual interactions weren’t her thing.

They had quickly learned that the whole threesome thing was a double-edged sword. Despite how much they enjoyed it, Sam feared she was going to get hurt.

That was why they had opted to forgo threesomes shortly after Tag had ended their sexcapades. Although, she couldn’t lie and say that she hadn’t thought about them because she had. A lot. For the last year and a half, she had held out hope that they might get back to that place one day.

She’d actually believed for a short period that they might’ve reached that point when they were introduced to Xander Boone, an extremely handsome, single man whom Sam had found herself attracted to.

At that point, the thoughts of threesomes had returned with a vengeance.

It didn’t help that there were many times when she and Logan were alone that he would tell her exactly what he wanted another man to do to her. His deep, rich baritone, mixed with his graphic narration always set her aflame. No matter the time or place.

Of course, when she found out that Logan had considered propositioning Xander, she’d found the idea intriguing, even if she’d been momentarily terrified. She wasn’t scared of Xander, but the thought of what she would ultimately want from another untraditional relationship weighed heavily on her mind. After all, they had believed that Xander was an unattached man, and that meant he could move on at any time, especially if love came knocking on his door.

After watching Xander and Mercedes, despite what the two of them had said about their relationship – or more accurately, their friendship – Sam wasn’t at all convinced that things between them were strictly platonic.

But that wasn’t even the point. It was no longer about Xander. She wasn’t interested, and she knew he wasn’t either.

The point was that Sam felt as though she was getting in over her head. Perhaps she was.

It wasn’t a secret that their previous threesomes hadn’t worked, so she had no clue why she would think it could happen now. Especially because Sam knew deep down that she wanted more from a polyamorous relationship than just sex. Not that she had mentioned that to Logan. Yet.

But then he’d come up with the proposal of BDSM.

She didn’t mind experimenting, but was that something they would use to replace the threesomes? Could it be enough to sate those specific urges that the two of them had?

Doubtful.

Double-checking that her mascara hadn’t clumped, Sam attempted to rein in her thoughts. Now that she was dressed and ready, she was more than a little excited. Logan had something planned for tonight; she could feel it.

“Are you almost ready?” Logan called from the bedroom, successfully distracting her.

Sam took a step back, staring at the woman in the mirror, her smile not forced. Yep, she was ready. A little too ready. “One minute,” she replied, grabbing her brush and running it through her hair one last time. Once she was finished, she stepped into the bedroom to find Logan sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Come here.” He beckoned her toward him by crooking his finger and she complied.

With him sitting on the bed and her standing, Sam came to a stop directly in front of him.

“Did you need something?” she asked coyly.

“I want to see what you’re wearing,” he explained, his hands sliding down over her hips. His hazel eyes had caught fire, the passion and heat she was so familiar with seemed to glow from within.

“Just a dress.” One of her favorites, but he already knew that. The short sequined sheath actually accentuated her curvy body better than any other dress she owned. If she could get away with it, she would wear it all the time.

“Hmmm, but I’m more interested in what’s beneath the dress,” Logan said with a mischievous grin.

Beneath? Sam returned the grin, enjoying the feel of Logan’s warm hands as they slid under the hem of her dress.

While her toes dug into the plush carpet beneath her bare feet, Sam moaned as Logan’s slightly rough fingers roamed over the skin of her upper thighs, higher.
