Chapter 17
“Are you ready, Master Morrison?”
Sawyer smiled. Ciara’s question reminded him of Dylan’s question the first day he began his training, though his title was different now. “Yes, I’m ready. Are you?”
“Yes…” she grinned. “But… I can’t help but feel like this is some sort of test. I know you can’t tell me and that’s fine, but I promise to be completely open to whatever you have planned for me.”
She had no idea what she was agreeing to and again, he waffled. But only briefly this time because he knew there was no backing out and this wasn’t only a test for her, but for him. Still, her trust meant everything to him. Absolutely fucking everything. The way she was looking at him… how could he even consider doing the one thing that she feared the most?
Brusquely he pulled her to him and held her face between his hands. “I just want you know that I would never ever hurt you.”
Confused by his remark, she smiled awkwardly.
In an instant he made an executive decision about the scene. He glanced at his watch. Sarah would be here any moment.
“Wait for me in the library, Angel. I have to take care of something.”
He strode confidently to Kerian’s office and knocked before entering. When he came into the room, Julia was sitting on her knees in an elegant display pose with her back straight and her weight balanced between her hips evenly. The way her knees were bent and legs spread apart at shoulder width, he and Kerian had a perfect view of her exposed and waxed genitals through her crotchless, black lace panties. Her hands rested with palms up on the top of her thighs gracefully and Sawyer was momentarily stunned into silence by her beauty, but quickly recovered when Kerian caught him ogling the Korean beauty.
“There’s a change in plans,” he stated resolutely, his voice emphasizing that there was going to be no negotiating. Kerian’s brows went up and he stood, but said nothing. “I would like Julia to be present for the scene as opposed to Sarah.”
“Mr. Morrison, I…” Kerian began to interrupt.
“This isn’t a request. I insist. Respectfully.”
Kerian’s eyes narrowed and he walked around to the front of his desk, seating himself on the edge. “Can I at least get an explanation as to why you want both my slaves present?”
“Ciara doesn’t know Sarah. From what I understand, they’ve never even met, so it would be imprudent to assume that she would be comforted by Sarah’s presence simply because she’s a submissive. I understand why you can’t be present, however, Julia does not hold the same power that you do. They are equals and therefore she will be at ease with her.”
The faintest of smiles tipped the corners of Kerian’s mouth and he dropped his head, nodding in agreement. Without raising his head, he asked, “But what about your comfort level? I thought Sarah was going to be in attendance not only for Ciara, but for you.”
Yes, it was true, but this wasn’t about his needs and he knew that. This was about Ciara and helping her to let go of her fears. “It would be selfish of me to have Sarah there when Julia is clearly a better choice for Ciara.”
“Very well. Julia…” he raised his head and waved to her. “Join Ciara. Is everything set up?”
“It will be shortly. I’m waiting for Sarah to assist me.”
A few minutes later and right on time, Sarah arrived, carrying a camera bag and looking divine in a white, cotton knitted cap and thigh length sweater wrapped around her thick waist.
“You look lovely,” Sawyer kissed her forehead.
“Thank you, Sir. Shall we set up?” she beamed, her demeanor exuding enthusiasm.
“Yes, but first I need to speak with you.” He guided her past the foyer into a small alcove that doubled as the coat room. “I’ve decided to have Julia as back up…” he paused to let his words sink in. He expected to see some kind of reaction, something, but she stood stoically unflinching, even unblinking. “Snowflake?” he asked, worried she had gone catatonic on him.
“I heard you. Would you still like me to help you set up?”
“Of course. Thank you. I didn’t come to this decision lightly. I just thought…”
“There’s no need to explain yourself, Sir. I know that your decisions are final and I would never question them,” she cut in.
Her voice was calm and even, but there it was, that something he had hoped he wouldn’t see; hurt. It flashed briefly in her eyes and her mouth twitched only the slightest. Anyone else would’ve missed it, but he saw it and he almost wished he didn’t know her so well. He sighed heavily and rubbed the palm of his hand over his face.
“Let’s set up,” he turned away from her, unable to take the silence and her unblinking stare.
In the dungeon, Sarah acclimated herself and found the equipment he had requested, including a cane, double pinwheel, nipple clamps and silk scarf. Sawyer watched as she moved around the dungeon gracefully and laid out the lubricant and condoms next to the bed that he had chosen for his scene. She was adorable when she was focused and it was difficult not to get aroused by her. Sarah looked up at him and did a double take when she caught him staring at her heatedly.
“Sir? Is something wrong?”
He cleared his throat and shook his head, mildly ashamed for having been thinking illicit thoughts about her when it was Ciara he should be concentrating on.
She promptly went back to setting up the camera on a tripod while he searched for the perfect songs on his phone. He needed it to be sexy, somber and slow. When he made his choice, he walked over and smelled several different sticks of incense trying to find the appropriate one.
Sarah slid next to him and picked up a lavender stick. “Lavender helps reduce anxiety levels,” she said softly, inhaling deeply. “This might be beneficial for the both of you.”
As usual, Sarah’s knowledge astounded him. Was there anything she didn’t know? “Good choice,” he wrapped his hand around her waist. He leaned down to kiss the top of her head but she gently pulled away from him, the warmth of her body replaced by a cold chill. Her action left him feeling unwanted and irritated. He shook his head and brought the stick to his nose. Yes, it did have a calming effect.
“Everything looks to be in order, Sir. I’ve put her asthma medication just within reach should she need it… but…” she looked up and smiled as she moved to the door, “…she won’t. Everything will be fine. Good luck, Sir. I’ll send the girls in.”
She turned to walk away, but Sawyer calling out to her halted her exit. When she faced him, he lifted one side of his mouth in a half-smile.
“Sarah… thank you. For the note. For everything. I couldn’t go through with this if it wasn’t for your help and encouragement.”
Her breathing became shallow and her electric blue eyes bordered with tears. She gulped hard but held her equanimity steadily. “Thank you, Sir, for letting me be a part of this,” she forced a smile before turning to leave.
Sawyer rubbed his palm over his face and pushed the vision of Sarah out of his mind. It was show time. No more pussing around. The prolonged anticipation of the day had been almost unbearable and rolled his neck as he took a deep breath in then blew it out. He was as ready as he was ever going to be.
He quickly lit the incense and dimmed the lights for a romantic setting, and cued Waiting Game by Banks on the mp3 player. Ciara and Julia both entered quietly as he was dressing down. He turned to face them and motioned for Ciara to come to him.
